Capannori
The town of Capannori is part of the province of Lucca. Your name derives from the late Latin "hut" or "little house". It was a domain of the city of Lucca since past centuries in becoming a growing rural centre. In the period between the thirteenth and fourteenth century the city of Lucca began a strong and massive fortification of the village of Capannori to counter the army of the Republic of Pisa. Beginning in 1313 the area was occupied by Capannori Pisan, causing destruction and many damaged. He was later released from Castruccio Castracani, elected subsequently Duke of Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia, Luni and Volterra. In town there are numerous monuments, among which stands out the Saints Parish Quirico and Giulitta, Villa Cenami Mansi, the Villa Reale in Marlia, Villa Santini-Torrigiani and "Farmer Museum of the Plains of Lucca."
